What Is Conduction?
Hot particles vibrate and hit each other passing the vibrations on. Eventually the particles are vibrating throughout the material.

What Is Convection?
Particles near the heat source move apart as their bonds become weaker. The liquid becomes less dense and so rises. Colder (denser) liquid sinks down to take its place.
