Define overweight and obesity
Overweight is being over a weight considered to be normal or desired. Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health.

What are two methods of measuring obesity?
BMI is a measure of whether you're a healthy weight for your height. It's calculated by weight divided by height squared. Another way of measuring is waist-to-hip measurement. This should be no more than 0.8 for women and 0.95 for men.

Identify trends in childhood & adult obesity
1 in 3, 10 to 11 year olds, were deemed to be overweight or obese in 2015/16. In October 2016, cancer research discovered that around 36,500 chilrdren had started primary school overweight or obese every year since 2012.

What are the reasons for these trends?
Fewer people are eating 3 meals a day and are constantly eating snack inbetween. Full-time working parents tend to prepare fewer meals for their kids and themselves. The more income, the more families will eat out.

A lack of time cooking healthy meals, limited income, no motivation, wide availability of cheap, energy-dense and nutrient-poor foods, healthy foods may not be available

Two health problems concerned with obesity are Type 2 Diabetes and CVD

What are 2 dietary and lifestyle recommendations to achieve a healthy weight in childhood?
A dietary recommendation would be having a healthy lunch everyday at school. A lifestyle recommendation would be joining an after school sports club

What are 2 dietary and lifestyle recommendations to achieve a healthy weight in adulthood?
A dietary recommendation would be eating healthier foods on a day-to-day basis like fruits and vegetables. A lifestyle recommendation would be walking to locations if it's at a suitable distance instead of using transport.
