Infrastructure as a Service- the cloud is providing online (or virtual) hardware, rather than the business buying their own. e.g. servers, networking and data storage and the cloud provider is responsible for maintaining and running the devices.

Cloud Computing is said to be scalable, which means that the service can be increased or decreased as required. e.g. when a client is paying for online storage and need more space, cloud provider will increase it automatically and charge accordingly.
