What are the stages of an Infectious Disease?
Firstly, the micro-organism enters the body. Secondly, it rapidly reproduces to build up numbers. This is known as the Incubation Period. Thirdly, the micro-organism starts to create harmful toxins. Finally, symptoms begin to appear-e.g, a fever.

Why does disease spread faster after a Natural Disaster takes place?
There will be poor sanitation. No clean drinking water, damage to sewage systems. Little to no sustainable food.

How does Bacteria become resistant to Antibiotics?
Resistance is caused by a mutation in the bacterial DNA, or when DNA is passed from one bacterium to another. It is becoming more common as the resistant bacteria have an advantage over non resistant bacteria. They survive and pass on their DNA.

How do we slow the spread of Resistance?
Take antibiotics only when needed, Take the full prescribed course of antibiotics so that all the bacteria are destroyed. Doctors and nurses should was their hands after dealing with an infected patient.

Mineral particles of all different sizes, living plants and animals, decayed plants and animals, air and water.

Soil provides minerals-which are needed for growth, Water- which is needed for life and Anchorage for the roots.

What are the different types of Soil?
Sand- which drain well due to large mineral particles and large air spaces. Clay- which contain small particles close together and become waterlogged. Loam- which contains clay, mud and lots of a decomposed material called Humus.

What is meant by the term 'Aerating'?
Aerating is increasing the amount of air in soil.

They break down dead plants and animals, which releases elements the soil.
