What is nuclear fusion?
When 2 smaller nuclei are forced closer together, so they fuse to make a larger nucleus, releasing lots of energy.
1 of 5
What is a disadvantage of nuclear fusion?
Requires a large electric current( so nuclei have enough kinetic energy to fuse.
2 of 5
What is another disadvantage of nuclear fusion?
Requires a large magnetic field(to stop nuclei touching walls and losing energy.
3 of 5
What are 3 advantages of nuclear fusion?
1. Fuel(hydrogen) is free 2. Fuel is readily available in sea water 3. it is not radioactive

Where does nuclear fusion happen naturally?
In stars
