Noun Endings - Masculine or Feminine?

It is sometimes impossible or extremely difficult to tell if a noun is masculine of femininebecause it often has no relation to what it is. Therefore, it's best to learn the gender of a word alongside it's spelling and meaning. However, if you haven't done that or have simply forgotten the gender in your writing, it is sometimes possible to tell from the ending of the word. Look at the endings in the quiz and see if they are likely to be masculine or feminine.

Tip: While completing the quiz, you might also find it useful to think of examples of the endings that you know.

Great quiz, but remember there are exceptions to a few of these e.g. l'eau is feminine, although most words ending in eau are indeed Masc. Similarly most words ending in age are masc, but don't forget la plage, la page, l'image, la cage.
