How did Ike change Truman's foreign policy?
Criticised Truman for being too soft on communism and containment as negative, and talked instead of roll back, new look, brinkmanship and massive retaliation

Through cutting defence spending the US didn't want war, they needed to make it not with your enemy's while starting a fight with the USA, other powers should realise if they take on the US a nuclear exchange will happen

Dulles had to convince potential enemies in any conflict that the US were prepared to use nuclear weapons, each conflict was taken on the verge of war.
