What is the nature side of the debate?
The view that all behaviour is determined by our biology such as genes, as well as evolutionary explanations as behaviour is needed for survival

They are displayed because they ensure the survival of the infant

The view that all behaviour is learnt and influenced by external factors, it is supported by the behaviourist approach

Empirical evidence shows that bevaiour is learnt and can be modified through conditioning

Even learning may have a genetic basis, it is reductionist

Interactionist approach
It is limiting to describe behaviour in terms of either nature or nurture e.g. a diathesis stress model is used to explain SZ
