Natural Selection

?
Natrual Selection
The organisms with the best adaptations survive and pass their gene to their offspring
1 of 8
Stage 1- Reproduce
The species reproduce to keep the population going
2 of 8
Stage 2- Mutation in the Genes
A mutation in the genes become present, for example colour of a beetle. Mutations cause genteic variations in the species
3 of 8
Stage 3- Variation
Theres a variation in the species for example a green bettle in a population of brown beetles. This variation sometimes can be good and Bad.
4 of 8
Stage 4- Compertiton
There is always a compertion for food, habitat ect. Having an variation can help the organism so if youhave a tall height you have that opputuity to food from high places which small animals dont.
5 of 8
Stage 5- Survial
Animals need to survive so having that variation can help.Forexample if an elephant dosent have tusks theres a less chance of them getting hunted from potchers.
6 of 8
Stage 6- Adaptation
The best adapted to their environment are likely to have many offspring that survive
7 of 8
Stage 6- Reproduce and pass onto there offspring
Animals who survive, pass that mutation on in their off spring and create an stronger population.
