SECTION A: dotted rhythms, in Db Major, the lyrical falling motifs makes it sound sad. SECTION B: melody in left hand, resembles a storm like atmosphere. Decorated with ACCIACITURAS and TURNS, phrases are 4-8 bars long

Lots of crescendos and diminuendos, dynamics start soft, 'SOTTO VOCE' ('under voice') then reaches FF in section B, the return of section A is 'P' 'SMORZANDO' ('dying away') and there is a RIT and the end and the piece ends as 'P'

TONALITY AND HARMONY
SECTION A: Db MAJOR. SECTION B: C#MINOR, Dominant pedal can be heard thoughout and is very clear in section B (repeated G# quavers), mostly diatonic with chromatisism explored in the return of section A. Opens and ends in Db Maj with perfect cadence

LEGATO, Time sig :4/4, use of rubato (robbed time),the dotted rhythms in section A give the light feeling of raindrops, SOSTENUTO (sustained)
