Compressor
Reduces dynamic range
1 of 10
gain reduction
the amount of compression applied as the audio plays
2 of 10
attack
the amount of time it takes for the compressor to react when the signal exceeds the threshold
3 of 10
release
the amount of time it takes for the compressor to stop reducing the signal (once the signal falls below the threshold)
4 of 10
ratio
the ratio by which the signal is reduced when it exceeds the threshold
5 of 10
knee
adjusts whether the signal is compressed immediately or more gradually at levels close to the threshold
6 of 10
threshold
the level above which the signal is reduced
7 of 10
peak
peak makes the compressor react to the signal when it goes over the threshold no matter how short a time
8 of 10
RMS
RMS takes an average of the signal over time
9 of 10
gain
volume increase applied to the output signal
10 of 10
