Lots of double stopping, 2 part counterpoints at beginning, Mel-dom-hom and homorhythmic at bar 9-12, heterophonic bar 26, fuller texture at important moments, e.g. last bars of exposition. CODA has antiphonal exchange between strings and wind.

5 part polyphony with imitation between parts, e.g. bar 1 bt. 2, bar 4 bt. 2 and bar 5 bt. 2 each imitate the previous. The five note figure in bar 1 of Galliard is followed by similar imitative entries in a fugal style, less imitation for 2nd strain
