Sends info to different stores based on sense. Duration is less than a second and capacity is all sensory experience.

Info that is rehearsed and is therefore memorised. Duration and capacity are unlimited, encoding is semantic.

Memory about the world. Includes general knowledge as well as the meaning of words. Involves conscious thought and is declarative.

Memory of particular events. Involves conscious thought.

Procedural memory
Memory of how to do things e.g. ride a bike. Does not involve conscious thought/is automatic.
