Mono-zygotic twins Bruce & Brian Reimer were born.

Bruce is operated on where the genitalia is burnt due to an electricity failure. Also the parents of Bruce were consulted with Money and were told to raise Bruce as Brenda.

Bruce becomes Brenda. he is properly castrated, a ***** is added and the testies are removed.

Annual visits begin and stereotypical female behavior was found.

"Gender neutrality was not differentiated at birth so gender can be reasigned through nuture". Money published the study as a success.

Brenda is given hormone replacement therapy in the form of oestrogen.

After many difficulties, Brenda was told the truth after feeling socially isolated. He then became known as David and became male.

Diamond and Sigmundson published findings which contradicted Moneys conclusion. David began to have masculine surgery.

David's brother Brian committed suicide; apparently due to the changes of gender but also the media's constant involvement

David also committed suicide ages 38.
