What did TH Green (1836-1882) argue about capitalism?
He argued that capitalism and an inactive state had failed to tackle poverty and social division. This has led to decreased not increased freedom.

What is Positive Freedom and what government introduced welfare measures?
Positive freedom suggests that true freedom means to achieve your full potential therefore the state is necessary for helping the poor in doing this. - The Liberal government of Asquith and Lloyd George. (The Beveridge report pioneered this thinking)

What is Developmental Individualism?
The state is needed to help people fulfil their true freedom. (As opposed to Classic Liberalism's Egotistical Individualism) J.S Mills while a Classic Liberal believed that some people will fail to thrive due to no fault of their own.

J M Keynes believed that state intervention and investment into the economy is required e.g. progression taxation, universal welfare and free education. (Liberalism has influenced both Conservatism and Socialism even though Keynes was a Liberal)

They reject the 'cradle to grave' socialist vision (Carrying people throughout their lives)

Democracy and subsidiarity (Decisions should be made at the most local level rather than a centralised authority)

The rational and self-interested individual (rather than on any other group or collective body.)
