What is a Bacterium?
A single celled prokaryotic microorganism.
1 of 5
Describe and state the purpose of each of the following structures; Bacterial Chromosome, Plasmid, Flagellum, Pilli.
Bacterial chromosome; long coiled up strand of DNA, Plamids are circular sections of DNA separate from bacterial chromosome, flagellum; long hair-like structure for movement, Pilli short hair-like for latching to cells to tranfer genetic material.
2 of 5
Describe and state the function of each of the following Capsule, Cell wall and Cell membrane.
Capsule is secreted slime that helps protect the cell, Cell wall helps maitain structure and the cell membrane controls movement in and out.
