Step 1:
Before going to the lawn, generate 10 sets of random co-ordinates

Step 2:
Mark out 2 different areas of a field to investigate using a tape measure (10m x 10m)

Step 3:
In area one, place the quadrat frame at the first set of random co-ordinates

Step 4:
Count the number of quadrants in which the known species is found. If using a frame quadrat that is 10 frames by 10. The total frame percentage is 100% and each square is 1%

Step 5:
Repeat this at the position determined by each set of random co-ordinates

Step 6:
Calculate the percentage frequency for area 1 = number of quadrats in which the species was found/total number of quadrats
