Step 1:
Set up five water baths at temperature of 10,20,30,40 and 60

Step 2:
Clamp a boiling tube onto a clamp stand in front of a white tile/sheet of white paper

Step 3:
Pour 10cm3 of 1M hydrochloric acid solution into the boiling tube

Step 4:
Place the boiling tube into the water bath and leave it to equilibrate to the temperature of the water

Step 5:
Place an agar cylinder containing sodium hydroxide solution and phenolphthalein indicator into the boiling tube, making sure the agar cylinder is covered with hydrochloric acid and start the stopwatch/stopclock immediatel

Step 6:
Time how long it takes for the pink colour to disappear

Step 7:
Repeat the experiment to get three results at this temperature

Step 8:
Repeat steps 1-5 for each temperature, using a clean boiling tube each time
