Metals and Alloys

HideShow resource information
What are the properties of metals?
Conductor of electricity, conductor of heat, malleable, ductile, high melting point and high boiling point
1 of 8
What is an alloy?
A mixture of one or more metals
2 of 8
What is a shape memory alloy?
A shape memory alloy is an alloy that goes back to there original shape
3 of 8
What is thermosetting?
Thermosetting is polymer chains with cross linking between them so that they do not melt when they are heated.
4 of 8
What is thermosoftening?
Thermosetting is 2 types of polythene which have different properties, low density and high density. They are made under different conditions of high pressure and using a different catalyst.
