what is the menstrual cycle?
involves the build up of the ling of the womb to coincide with the release of an egg(ovulation). This is followed by the break down of the tissue, the egg is not fertilised.

adv- enables infertile women to have babies disadv- can lead to multiple births and can be expensive

why is oral contraceptives needed?
when a woman want to have control over when to get pregnant

oestrogen and progesterone

oestrogen stops FSH production, so no eggs mature and are release

what is an advantage and disadvantage using oral conceptions?
adv- effective in controlling conception disadv- must be taken regularly and they can have side effect e.g. putting on weight
