1 of 9
What research method did Loftus and Palmer use?
A lab study
2 of 9
What were the findings of Loftus and Palmers' research asking participants about the speed of a car?
That the more violent a verb used, the more likely participants were to estimate it's speed as being faster
3 of 9
State one effect of age on the accuracy of EWT?
Older individuals are less confident in their memory accuracy. Young (under 8) children are less accurate than adults.
4 of 9
Explain what is meant by the Yerkes-Dodson Curve in relation to Anxiety and EWT?
As Anxiety increases, so does accuracy of recall, to an optimum point. After this point, as anxiety continues to increase, accuracy of recall decreases.
5 of 9
Why is it important that we investigate EWT in a real-life setting as well as using laboratory studies?
Because laboratory studies tell us very little about how people would remember information in a real life setting. There may be other factors (e.g. more anxiety as the event is real) that cannot be recreated in the lab.
6 of 9
Explain what is meant by a natural study?
This is when the independent variable is naturally occuring rather than being controlled by the Investigator.
7 of 9

Context Reinstatement, Recall in reverse order, Recall from another person 's perspective, Report everything
