What does mise-en-scene stand for?
Sound, lighting, camera angles/shots/movements, costume/hair/makeup, setting/location

Extreme long shot, long shot, wide shot, mid shot, close up, extreme close up, two shot, pov shot etc.

What is a wide shot?
A long shot is essentially the same as a wide shot. When referring to a person, a long shot means they take up almost the full frame height. In other situations it means a wide shot of the whole scene, placing the subjects in their environment.

What is a close up?
In the closeup shot, a certain feature or part of the subject takes up most of the frame. A close up of a person usually means a close up of their face (unless specified otherwise).

Name some examples of camera movements?
Pan, tracking, zoom, tilt etc.

What does the tracking camera movement do?
Movement which stays a constant distance from the action, especially side-to-side movement.

What is the pan camera movement?
Horizontal movement, left and right

What is the zoom camera movement?
Change in the lens focal length with gives the illusion of moving the camera closer or further away

What does the tilt camera movement involve?
Vertical movement of the camera angle

High key and low key

What does high key lighting mean?
Bright colours, vibrant, high in contrast etc.

What does low key lighting mean?
Dull colours, dark, not easy to see etc.

Diegetic and non-diegetic

What does diegetic mean?
Sound that has not been added on, real sounds that have been filmed

Sound that has been added on after filming
