How do ultrasound position detectors work?
They measure the distance of a moving object from a detector several times per second, and use that to crate graphs of distance or velocity against time
1 of 8
What are advantages of ultrasound position detectors?
Data is more accurate - no need to allow for human reaction time. Much higher sampling rate. Data can be displayed in real time.
2 of 8
Why did Galileo use a slope to test free fall?
This slowed the balls fall (making time more measurable) and reduced the effects of air resistance, making the experiment more accurate
3 of 8
What is Newton's 1st law?
The velocity of an object won't change unless an external resultant force acts on it
4 of 8
What is Newton's 2nd law?
F=ma
5 of 8
What is Newton's 3rd law?
If body A exerts a force on body B, body B exerts an equal and opposite force on body A, in the opposite direction
6 of 8
What causes drag to increase?
An increase in speed or surface are against air
7 of 8
How do car crumple zones, seat belts and airbags reduce force a passenger receives in a crash?
By increasing impact time
