Why people believe in life after death
Idea of death is difficult to deal with so the idea of an afterlife seems to make life fairer. Makes sense that those who have lived a good life should be rewarded.

Non- belief in life after death
Science explains everything so we shouldn't believe non scientific things. There is no evidence of an afterlife. Religion is outdated and offers no good evidence.

UK abortion Law
1967: Abortions must be agreed by 2 doctors. Abortion is allowed up to 24 weeks if the is a risk to the mother or baby's health. Abortion is allowed after 24 weeks if there's a serious risk to the mother or baby's health.

Arguments FOR Abortion
Women should choose what happens to their body. In **** cases abortion should be allowed. Kinder to abort a disabled child. Babies has the right to be loved and a women can't always do this.

Life begins at conception. An embryo has potential & has the right to life. Disabled children should have the right to life. Adoption is an alternative.

Abortion is murder. Life is a sacred gift from god. God has a plan for everyone. All life has value. Life begins at conception.

Jesus taught about compassion. We can't be sure life begins at conception. **** or incest cases it's the kindest action. Medical technology identifies problems with the foetus. Abortion is the best choice if the mothers life's at risk.

If the mothers life is as risk abortion is allowed. This is because the foetus wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the mother and the mothers life is established and she has responsibilities.

Before ensoulment a foetus suffering a serious defect can be aborted. Abortion is allowed in tape or incest cases. Muslim women believe the should be able to chose what happens to their body. Some allows it in the first 16 weeks, others 7 weeks.

Active euthanasia: carried out by a doctor performing a deliberate action e.g. Lethal injection. Passive Euthanasia: when a life support is withdrawn or when a sick person is not given treatment.

Arguments FOR Euthanasia
Allows the patient to die pain free. Patient dies with dignity. Saves medical costs. Relieves the family burden.

Arguments AGAINST Euthanasia
Sanctity of life. If it was legal it would lead to other things being legal lessening the value of life. Some people maybe be pressurised. Hospices provide alternative palliative care. Doctors can be wrong.

Why christians believe Euthanasia is WRONG
Seen as murder. Only god has that right to take life away. No one should decide the value of someone's life. Life should be valued even when in pain.

Why christians believe euthanasia is OKAY
People considering euthanasia do not have a good sanctity of life. Euthanasia in this case is the lesser of two evils.

Why Muslims believe Euthanasia is WRONG
Human life is sacred because it was given by Allah. Allah chooses how long someone lives. No one knows Allah's plans so shouldn't interfere. Euthanasia is suicide which isn't permitted. All life is valuable even when suffering.

No view should be exempt. Religious views may be wrong or out of date. It's important to debate views.

Religious views should be respected because they're old. They're based on traditional teachings. The media should present a range of different ideas.
