How do you find what the percentage of something is?
'of' mean multiplication, so you would convert the percentage into a decimal and multiply it by the number

How do you increase a number by a percentage?
You add the percentage to 100% and then turn the number into a decimal and multiply that by the number you want to increase. This gives you the increased number

You take away the percentage from 100% and then turn the number into a decimal and multiply it by the number you want to decrease. This gives you the decreased number

1. Work out the difference between the numbers 2.Calculate (difference/original amount) x 100% 3.Thsi gives you the change in percentage, then see whether it is a percentage increase or decrease
