What is a locus?
A collection of points which follows a rule e.g. the locus of all points 2cm away from point A
1 of 6
Howdo you draw a locus of points?
You find the point/line/shape you have to do the locus around and then you draw a line/shape around that point that is equidistant from the point/line/shape
2 of 6
How do you draw a perpendicular bisector of a line?
1. Put the compass at one end of the line and make the compass wider thanhalf the line 2.Draw an arc either side of the line 3.Keep the compass the same length and repeat on the other end of the line 4.Join the two crosses in a straight line
3 of 6
How do you draw a perpendiclar from a point on a line?
1.Set the compass to medium length and draw to arcs on the line either side of the point 2.Continue like you will draw a perpendicular bisector except only on one side
4 of 6
How do you draw a perpendiclar from a point to a line?
1. Set the compass on the point and long enough so it crosses over the line 2.Draw two arcs on the line 3.Continue like a perpendicular bisector except on the opposite side of the line where there is no point 4.Join the points with a straight line
5 of 6
How do you draw an angle bisector?
1. Set the compass at any length and set on angle point 2.Draw two arcs on the lines either side the point 3.Keep the compass the same length and draw an arc from each new intersection to inside the angle 4.Join new intersection to angle point
