When you say after 5 years since purchase, was the purchase after a year or including the year?

Also, I tried both and none of my solutions matched - I did the original pricex0.955^5, which should work but it didn't.

It starts after 1 year of the purchase. If you subtract 5.5% from 100% you get 0.945, so 1500 x 0.945^5 = 1130.44725, so you get £1130.45 as the correct answer. Hope this helps :)

The pencil question was rather confusing as there wasn't anything I learnt that involved that, but I guess that tells me something so thank you :)
