How are sets written?
letter and the brackets e.g. A={2,4,6,8,10}

What does A∩B mean?
intersection- all the objects that belong to set A and set B

What does A∪B mean?
union- objects that belong to set A or set B (both)

What does a∈A mean?
element of (membership of set A) e.g. If set A={a,b,c,d,e,f,g}, then a∈A.

What does C^1 mean?
Every object that isn't in set C- what is not in set C

What does A∩B^1 mean?
Elements in A and are not in B

What does A∪B^1 mean?
EVERY element in A plus the ones that aren't in B
