This is when rocks that are loosened by weathering moving down the slope/ cliff under the influence of gravity.These rocks can either SLIDE or SLUMP down.

Slumping...
This happens where the rock in the cliff is very soft, being easily filled with water and slowly slips down into the sea. This is common in cliffs with slippery clay at the bottom.

This happens when large chunks of rock slide (fall) down the slope/cliff quickly without any warning. These tend to be drier than slumps.
