Identity is the way people see us. Some sociologists argue that this perception has now become about the brands/material possessions we have.

Media can enforce a stereotype, so you act to fulfill it, hence changing the way you act, and how people see you. (Identity).

We are all helpless to media influence, and it injects it's messages into us.

What criticisms are there of the hypodermic syringe theory?
Outdated. No every does as media says. It does not take in account to different interpretations.
