-Purchasing goods, produced by exploited workers (creating profits).....Media-target children so they make parents buy them

Analyses power and conflict...explains why there is an uneven distribution of power and wealth

simplistic, status and power=important sources of inequality, ignores wider variety of family (nuclear=dominant), ignores benefits family provides for its members

Ideas/beliefs justifying inequalities maintaining a capitalist society.....hierarchy=inevitable (socialised to children)...parental power, someone has to be in charge

assume nuclear family=dominant and largely ignore the variety of family......Feminists argue they ignore the importance of gender inequalities within the family....Functionalists argue they ignore the benefits of the family for its members
