Farmers in France finding bones in the fields. Poem switches between describing soldier's death and the grisly discovery of their bones in present.

Plosives= "b" sounds like gun noises. Written in tercets (3 line stanzas) = Strips in fields. Written in 3rd person= feeling of distance and detachment. Long sentences& enjambment = sad, reflective tone. Uneven lines= disruption of war.
