The muscular sheet beneath the lungs

What does the diaphragm do?
It separates the lungs from the abdomen of the body and also plays a role in ventilating the lungs.

What happens to air in the lungs?
Air is firstly warmed, moistened and filtered as it travels through the mouth and nasal passages.

Where does the air travel after traveling through the mouth and nasal passages??
It passes through the trachea and down one of the two bronchi and into one of the lungs.

What are the Bronchi?
The 2 major air tubes in the lungs, they divide into smaller tubes called bronchioles

What are Alvioli?
Alveoli are tiny sacs within our lungs that allow oxygen and carbon dioxide to move between the lungs and bloodstream
