What is interphase and what happens

Interphase is where the cell is in its resting position and does not divide by mitosis instead it carries out its normal metabolism functions and prepares for division of mitosis the normal metabolic functions can include respiration

What happens in interphase

So carries out its normal functions protein synthesis occurs grows in mitochondria and hence increasing number in cytoplasm checking for any errors in the cell replication of DNA chromosomes so that each daughter cell receives correct number of gene

Checkpoints needed due to the fact that it checks for any errors after each phase for example it checks for any errors or damage in the replication of DNA which could affect the next phase of the cell that was the need to prevent uncontrollable div
