Stressors may effect people differently - the death of a spouse if young and unexpected may have a huge impact, but if eldersly and expected it may be an expected relief

All the data on life changes is correlation data - doesn't tell us about any casual relations that may effect results (3rd variable anxiety, Brown suggsts people with high anxiety more likely to put life changes as bad and more prone to illness)
