Free school meals
Introduced in 1906, it allowed children from poorer families to have a decent meal. However, the governments didn't have to provide free school meals

Children and Young Persons Act
It's now known as the Childrens charter. his imposed severe punishments for neglecting or treating children cruelly. It was made illegal to sell cigarettes to children or send them out begging.

MP's
1911 MP's were paid, so working class people could stand for elections

Pensions
It introduced for the over 70s in 1908, which gave them 5s a week, or 7s 6d to a married couple.

Labour exchanges
They were set up in 1909 to help unemployed people find work.

National insurance act, part 1
In 1911 workers were entitled to free medical treatment, and sick pay of 10s a week for 26 weeks in return for a payment of 4d a week

National insurance act, part 2
In 1911 workers got the right to unemployment pay (dole) of 7s 6d a week for 15 weeks in return for a payment of 2½d a week.

Budget
1909, Lloyd George intorduced a budget to pay for the reforms. This meant that there were duties on tobacco and spirits, income tax was raised by 16 per cent (from 1s to 1s 2d), and a new 20 per cent tax on profits from selling land was introduced.

Parliament Act
1911, the house of lords refused to pass Lloyd George's budget,m so the House of Commons passed an Act stating that the House of Lords could not reject a bill that had been passed three times in the House of Commons.
