What is found in a typical animal cell?
Nucleus, Cell Membrane,Cytoplasm
2 of 15
What is the purpose of a nucleus?
The organelle which contains the genetic material that controls the cell's activities. It is surrounded by its own membrane.

What is the cell membrane?
Forms the outer surface of the cell and controls the substances that go in a

What is the cytoplasm?
A gel-like substance where most chemical reactions happen. It contains enzymes.

What is usually found in plant cells?
Nucleus,Cell membrane,Cytoplasm, Chloroplasts, Cell wall, Vacuole
6 of 15
What is the purpose of the chloroplasts?
This is where photosynthesis happens. Chloroplasts contain a green substance called chlorophyll, which is used in photosynthesis.

What is a cell wall?
A rigid structure made of cellulose, which surrounds the cell membrane. It supports the cell and strengthens it.

What is a vacuole?
A large organelle which contains cell sap. It supports the cell.
