Levels of Organisation

?
Levels of organisation
Cells -> tissues -> organs -> organ systems -> organism
1 of 7
Organelles
Components in cells that do specific jobs e.g chloroplasts that carry out photosynthesis or mitochondria that carry out respiration.
2 of 7
Cells
The smallest functioning unit of a living organism. e.g red blood cells that carry around oxygen to other cells
3 of 7
Multicellular
Most organisms are multicellular, which means they are made out of many cells
4 of 7
Tissue
A group of the same or similar cells which work together to do a job. e.g muscle tissue where muscle cells work together to bring movement in animals
5 of 7
Organs
A group of tissues which work together to do a particular job. e.g the heart which pumps blood and is made of three tissues (blood, muscle, nerves)
6 of 7
Organ system
A group of organs working together to do a particular job. e.g the circulatory system (made of the heart and blood vessels)
