"Imitated George exactly"-Lennie relies on George, idolises him. George is a father figure.

Key event 1- Second quote...
"Rings widened across the pool"-Lennie's actions get worse and worse as you read the book. Foreshadows killing of Curley's Wife.

Key event 1- Third quote...
"Poor *******... went on whistling again"-Lennie doesn't learn from actions despite the consequences. George ignores this.

"Rabbits"-Gives Lennie simple goal and reason he behaves. Makes Lennie happiest person in book but her destroys it (Best laid plans omam often go awry).

"Get 'im Lennie"-Like setting a dog on someone. Lennie as obedient as a dog to George.

"Lennie's paw"-animal reference(bear). Bears powerful and destructive. Also "bleated" shows his innocence.

"His huge hand and stroked it"-Reminds reader how strong he can be. But also shows he's gentle.
