The Trade Descriptions Act 1968 - what does it do? what are the penalties?
The Trade Descriptions Act makes it an offence for a trader to make false or misleading statements about goods or services. If found guilty of an offence, a business could face an unlimited fine and two years’ imprisonment.

This Act gives consumers protection against faulty or unreliable goods. At the time of sale, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for the purpose for which they were bought.

fine of up to £20,000 and /or 51 weeks imprisonment. impose disqualification orders banning a person from owning or looking after animals and either dealing or transporting animals.

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974? what does it do?
places a duty on all employers "to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work" of all their employees.
