Behaviour policy
This is to promote learning and achievement and to prepare students for life, so that they emerge as confident and capable young people. To achieve this they have focused on learning and making sure the schools friendly and welcoming.

Prescribing Medication
This has traditionally been the doctors role, however some nurses who have undergone additional training and have taken on the role of nurse prescriber.

Support for lifestyle changes
changing the pattern of daily routines and habits that are damaging to health can be very challenging, but may be very important in improving a person's health.

Rehabilitation
The process of restoring a person to good health following surgery, an accident or other illness including recovery from addiction.

Physiotherapy
A type of therapy which is used to treat emotional and mental health conditions, usually by talking to a trained therapist one to one or in a group.

Complementary Therapist
A wide range of treatments designed to treat the whole person rather than the symptoms of their disease, for example acupuncture, astromatherapy and reflexology.

Conventional Medical Treatment
Also known as orthodox treatment. A system of treating an individuals symptoms and diseases by using drugs, radiation or surgery administrated by medical doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Assistive Technology
Any tools or strategy used to help people with disabilities complete their studies successfully and reach their potential.

Domiciliary Care
Care provided in the service users own home. This may include district nurses, home care workers and health visitors.

Care Planning Cycle
Assess, what does the client need? Agree, plan and agree with client the most appropriate care? Implement care plan, Monitor effectivness over an agreed period of time, Evaluate, Review and evaluate how effective the plan is, Amend/ improve the plan
