White (1910)
Put Cyanide in mothers tea, who died of heart attack shortly after drinking some. -Convicted of attempted murder.

D jumped into racetrack to declare race void to get back his money. -Conviction for attempting to steal was quashed

Found in boys toilet with knife, rope and masking tape and had not contacted any of the pupils. -Conviction for attempted false imprisonment was quashed.

Separated from partner. D shortened shotgun barrel and got in V's car, wearing a crash helmet, pointed gun at V. V grabbed gun and threw it out of car window. -Conviction for attempted murder upheld.
