The Labour Party aimed to rebuild houses and buildings that had been destroyed during the war and by reducing unemployment.

The public supported Labour and therefore voted Clement Attlee as Prime Minister, they also disagreed with Churchill's aims and therefore voted him out or premier.

What was the Beveridge Report?
It was a report issued by William Beveridge in 1942. The report claimed that Britain should abolish what was known as the "Five Giants", Squalor, Idleness, Disease, Ignorance and Want.
