What does pre-conventional mean?
Rules are set down by others and your moral reasoning is shaped by others as well as the consequences for following or breaking the rules

What does the conventional level entail?
Begin to adopt the rules and internalize moral reasoning from adult role models

What does the post conventional level mean?
You define your own values and your moral reasoning is based upon your individual rights and justice

What are the two stages under pre-conventional?
Obedience and punishment orientation and Instrumental relativist orientation

What does the obedience and punishment orientation?
Punishment determined by goodness/badness

What does the instrumental relativist orientation entail?
What is right is satisfying ones needs and occasionally others

Good girl Good boy orientation and Law and order orientation

What does the good girl good boy orientation mean?
Good behaviour is what pleases others and is approved

What does the Law and order orientation mean?
Right is doing ones duty and respecting authority

Social contract orientation and universal ethical principle orientation

Law can be changed for the good of society

What is good is defined by your own conscious
