Protection From Harm
Nothing should happen to participants that would cause them physical or psychological harm

Informed Consent
Revealing true aims of the study so participants know the nature of the environment they may sign up to. Sometimes revealing details may change behaviour or thought process of the participants, therefore deception may be necessary.

Deception
Can be necessary to deceive participants, however can be unethical in the eyes of the participants

Confidentiality
Only acceptable for data to be published if an identity cannot be formed. Can be difficult to protect.

Right To Withdraw
If a participant feels distressed or uncomfortable they have the right to withdraw from the study.

Privacy
Difficult to avoid an invasion of privacy. Think of setting and environment, what questions are appropriate, and what time is appropriate.
