They are used to accurately locate, bend or aid in the construction of a product (save time and can make identical products)

Manipulation
reducing or enlarging a design, it can be done to shrink or enlarge an image whilst keeping its dimensions relatives

Mechanical books
books which have movement and actions built into them

Microns (µm)
card thickness is measured in microns (a micron is 1/1000th of a mm)

Mirror image
selecting an axis in which to produce a mirror image of a line/shape/design of a picture (save time in the long run)

Mock-up
a model, often full size, of a design to allow for evaluation, a working model of a product built for study or testing or display

Model
a graphic representation of the item you are designing (scaled down usually)

Modelling materials
the range of materials used to produce quality 3D models

Modern material
a material invented within the last 50 years

Moral issues
These are where the designer has to make a decision about something that may be dangerous or controversial, but it isn't covered by any law or design regulation
