What are elicited behaviours?
Automatic behaiours due to a stimulus
1 of 18
What is habituation?
The reduction in responsiveness to a stimulus due to repetition of an event without negetive consequences
2 of 18
What is sensitisation?
The increase in responsiveness to a stimulus due to the situation
3 of 18
What is associative learning?
Learning of the association between 2 events, these events may not even be causational, they just regularly co occured
4 of 18
What is contiguity?

What is behaviourism?

What did Polgår suggest/do?
He believed behaviours are not innate but are learnt, to prove this, from birth he nurtured his daughters to play chess - they all became very good and one became the best female chess player in the world

What did Hull suggest?
Believed that non-observable events can be studied, if it can be operationalised, it can be studied
13 of 18
What is deprivation?
Absence of an event for a long period of time can make you desire it more
14 of 18
What is satiation?
Prolonged exposure to a stimulus makes us want it less, maybe even avoid it
15 of 18
What did Tolman suggest?
Behaviours are goal directed, people learn expectancies in order to anticipate the consequences
