Universality
Any underlying characteristic of all human beings which is capable of being applied to all, despite differences in experience and upbringing.

Gender Bias
Bias is the tendency to treat one group in a different way to others. Gender bias refers to when a theory may not justifiably represent the behaviour and experience of both genders.

Androcentrism
'Male' centred. when the 'normalcy' of behaviour is judged based on male standards - often leading to female behaviour appearing abnormal.

Alpha Bias
theories which suggest that there are real enduring differences between men and women. these exaggerated differences often lead to the devilment of women.

theories which minimise the differences between the sexes.

refers to the tendency to ignore cultural differences and interpret all phenomenon throughout the paradise of ones own culture.
