what happened in 1917?
British took charge of Palestine under mandate to build a homeland for the Jews again. Palestinians resented this idea. The zionist movement move here to establish their major settlement.

UN passed Resolution 181 calling for palestine to be divided into separate Jewish and Arab states.

the jewish state, renamed Israel, declared its independence. Israel was almost immediately attacked by Palestinians and Arabs from the surrounding countries and war followed. which led to many refugee palestinians

The Arab states called for the destruction of Israel and campaign of violence followed, led by the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO).

Palestinians began an uprising to protest against the Israeli occupation of the main areas where they lived - the Gaza trip and West Bank

Apartheid Wall proving a huge concrete barrier between the West Bank and Israel - Effected Palestinian economy, making it very difficult for supplies to get through to the Palestinians and making it hard for people to find work or to travel.
