Why was Germany a pain?
Because they were costing eveyone a lot of money.

They merged their zones together, first creating a Bizonia then later on a Ttizonia. They would use Marshall aid to help germany. Created the Deutchmark.

To get rid of capitalism, make Berlin dependant on the USSR, show them who is boss, for security and to make everyone 'red'.

What choices did the USA, Britain and France have?
Back down and let the USSr have Berlin, but this would look weak. Use tanks to ram the road blocks, but this would look war-like and go against the Truman doctrine. Or get into Berlin by plane, but there is a risk of getting bombed.
